Living in a Dream World

I recently got a new apartment and while I am broke and have no real means in which to decorate it has got my "nesting" instinct all up in a flurry. Which really just means I want to make repeated trips to Ikea and also that I seem to love furniture more and more. Here are a few things furnishing/decorating ideas I love (most of them come in some shade of blue or light teal). Maybe one day it will be possible...Thus follows the fantasy decorating wish list:

Head board in Don and Betty Draper's bed on Mad Men
(surprise, surprise its teal)

Jane Fonda's character had a blue phone in Barefoot in the Park. Been obsessed ever since.

Urban Outfitters sells a series of frames in different sizes and I loved the idea but refused to pay them for the concept and went out and bought different sized frames to decorate. I didn't pull it off as well, but I'll get there. If I had money to spare I would buy Urban's set.

I don't own any records, but I would if I had a record player. It just seems so cool. Short dress and teased out hair, along with knee high boots would follow right?

I want a bright red couch. I just love the color and couch it should be.

Urban Outfitters: I need a miniature statue of a squish faced dog.

Urban Outfitters: Wall Art. Obsessed with their wall art and the series of black and whites they did. This one in particular.

Multi colored dishes in all shapes and sizes! Oh looky there, there are some in light teal too.

Chair to sit and read and...I don't know I just want a comfy chair that is cute and has a great pattern and color scheme like this one. It's perfect.

I found a post card with this picture on it a few days ago and just loved it. I love the look of the raw bacon and the heart shaped eggs are funny. I love breakfast and yeah I would want some quality breakfasts in my perfect home.

Chole. Blonde. Red Lipstick. Shorts. Blazers. Ratty T-Shirts. Cone Bra. Hot Pants. Amazing Shoes.
What more could a girl want?

I had done a series of "Style Influences" a while back and I wanted to continue doing this, but I kept wanting to go back to the same girls I had already mentioned. Can't help it, once I find something I like I like to stick to it.

Thank you Miya for commenting on my posts. Oh goodie someone reads this thing! Loves you bestie.

I am really wanting the new Polaroid 300 camera. I know, I know the stereotype hipster reputation with the polaroid camera and everyone thinks their a photographer when they have one, but....yeah I still want one.

They are cute! The new camera comes in 3 colors (I want the blue). I love the polaroid pictures, they are just great. It is for my own personal amusement and yes, I want one.

The rest are for your entertainment and to show how great it would be to have a polaroid camera (all photos from Boy by Band of Outsiders website...obsession continues):

Broke and Bored

I am long over due for a post, but I have felt very unmotivated lately. I was recently laid off from my job with out warning (I was not the only casualty by the company's decision) and have felt very misplaced ever since. I feel like I always felt stressed out about not having enough time to do anything, but now that I have several days off with nothing to do I find myself lost and unmotivated.

It's not as bad as it sounds really given that I am on my way home soon for the summer and will be finished with school for the semester soon. Given I was laid off so close to when school was about to end, I didn't really have enough time to look for a job or be hired for 3 weeks much less. Instead I am just stuck in limbo. I've been good, I have studied and kept up with school. I have packed all my belongings that are to be moved uptown to my new apartment in New York (I will not be staying there for the summer but it will be here when I get back!)

Now I have all the free time I could want but no one to spend it with and no money to do anything that I would want to do. Go uptown to a museum? Nope, that is subway costs and museum ticket and I am already down and out in my funds as is. I've pretty much just felt consistently terrible for weeks now and I am trying to be optimistic, but its really waring on me.

I am currently sitting in a room full of boxes (as I mentioned before I am moving my things to my apartment uptown) and then I will be staying in my dorm room for a week with pretty much nothing. How I will cook and pay for food I am still working out. I hate being broke. I hate feeling like I can do nothing about it and I hate most of all feeling like I am just wasting time.

I realize this is very much a "rant" but I just wanted to throw it out there since sitting on my bare mattress and feeling sorry for myself, by myself is less than fun. I am sad to see the semester end, but need it to end quickly so I can get out of here and start to get my life together again.

Feeling useless is not such a good feeling.
