I got hooked on watching re-runs of the Rachel Zoe Project a few weeks ago. It is really easy to watch an entire season in a few weeks because there are only about 8 episodes per season. Now I have seen the show before and I tend to go back and forth on liking Rachel Zoe (her assistants on the other hand I fall in love with immediately. Jeremiah, Taylor, Brad, Mandana....). What I will say about her is that she does have a very distinct aesthetic, which I like. When someone has a certain style that I can associate with them I tend to really appreciate signature styles whether I with agree with it or not.

Rachel Zoe's signature has blossomed into her own brand that encompasses a wide variety of looks that are distinctively her. Watching the show I came to appreciate that no matter (8 months pregnant or not) she wore her "tranny heeled" boots.

It might just be a direct result of having a Rachel Zoe Project marathon, but now I am thinking I want some Rachel Zoe-esque boots:

Finally I have achieved adding a few of my much desired items to my closet.

1) Leopard Print Mohair shoes - booties to exact!

If you read my blog at all you know this has been an obsession for quite some time now. I am going through a phase where I am in love with heels and wedges, especially those that are fall inspired (aka boots). I am 5' 7" so I am lean towards the taller end of women, but nothing gives you more of a power trip than being even taller if you ask me. Can't talk down to me if I am towering over you, now can you?

2) Striped 3/4 Sleeve Shirt - (from Madwell, and basically everything they have is on my "must own" list)

I opted for the blue and white, though it came in a very attractive mustard and white stripe too. I wanted all three color options honestly, but this will do for now.

Recently I saw the movie Like Crazy. Naturally, I was in love with it before I even saw the movie based on the soft lighting and the fantastic movie poster.

Apart from enjoying the movie I want, need, love the clothes in the film...well, like crazy. A series of great sweaters, soft and laid back knits, a line skirts, and floral prints made up the wardrobe for the movie's lead heroine. If you don't love the movie you will love the wardrobe.

You could watch a Sofia Coppola movie on mute and still think the film is stunning. Coppola's movies are visually stunning and she clearly has a great respect for stylization, which I love.

Here is a tribute to my style influence of the day one of Sofia Coppola's most beloved films Virgin Suicides. The film has been a fashion inspiration for many and continues to be influential even though it has been more than a decade since the film was released. Makes me want to wear floral prints and check out the latest Rodarte line.

Did I mention that it is one of Kirsten Dunst's films? Hahaha, Kiki's style influence is everywhere what can I say.

Opened my mailbox today to a lovely surprise: the latest J Crew catalog. I happen to be one of those people that loves catalogs. I know its a little old fashioned, but I am a bit of a print enthusiast.
J Crew always has beautiful images and this season's marketing for their coats that come in wonderful pop colors really stand out.

Brightly colored coats are everywhere this season from the inspiration that came from the fall runway shows. J Crew offers several great silhouettes to classic coat options in a wide variety of pop colors this fall. Not to mention J Crew's coats are at some great price points. Check out these other brightly colored coats that I am obsessed with (yes, they are slightly less affordable).

Celine - I used to have a picture of this coat up at my desk at work. I love everything about it. Never has orange looked so chic. Then again Celine can do no wrong.

Rag and Bone - I have repeatedly posted about this coat. The wool motto jacket has a little bit of edge to it and I love the playfulness of the bright color

The Row - Sleek and chic defines the row and while the brand usually doesn't do bright colors I love this bold yellow coat

She's A Lady

I have a soft spot for Miu Miu. I love their feminine looks, even though usually that is not something I am particularly drawn too. They consistently turn out strong collections and I love the prints they use every time. As you might know already, I also enjoy their ads and spokesperson selection quite a bit. While I am fantasy shopping here are some Miu Miu goods I would enjoy.

This dress is so lady like I just adore it. Sophisticated, but still feels young and retro.

I am not one for glitter usually or pink. However, I have seen these shoes in numerious editorials and I can not stop staring at them. Gorgeous to the extreme. Even with out the flash I am obsessed with the curved heel.

Okay, who really needs this iPhone case like this? I kind of just love how decadent it is and the great pop colors it comes in. Why not?

Chic and timeless. Love the light color. The bag has an element of utility and gracefulness.

Basic pumps but I love the pop of color and the sude that looks heavenly.

This dress is just plain cute and looks like you could wear it every day.

Miu Miu has some of the best prints every season. Love the simple silhouette and the sweet print.

She may not be well known by the American public, but those who know of her are very aware of why Alexa Chung is a fashion icon. Mulberry named a bag after her. Madewell recently did a collaboration with her as well.

Known for her adrogenous and quirky style, has stood out for her passion for the industry and various collaborations . I love the simplicity of her look and the odd choices she sometimes makes. Nothing makes a girl a fashion icon quite like being on the worst dressed list as well as the best dressed list.

Geometric shapes have captured my attention, particularly when it comes to accessories. It seems every piece of jewelry I have thought about purchasing in the last few months has had triangles on it. The art deco influence is clearly going strong.

I was picking up some things at Duane Reade the other day and the woman in front of me was wearing this amazing coat. She was actually a few people in front of me or I would have asked her who the coat was by, but alas she got away before I could find out.

This coat was a combination of wool and leather paneling and I have literally been googling the words "coat with leather panels" over and over again hoping to find this coat.

Finally I struck gold the other day! Now I have no way of knowing if this is in fact the coat, but it is a winner for me.

Helmut Lang does it again: meet the Eon Trench Coat

Who doesn't love contrasting textiles? Helmut Lang tends to not disappoint me, I am generally a fan. This coat really has me thinking it might be worth the invenstment. Leather and wool all in one coat sounds to me like it would be the perfect winter coat.

Too bad I couldn't just pick this up while at the Duane Reade..

Fall = Knits!

Fall is in the air here in NYC. You know what fall means to me? Knits! I can't wait to get my hands on some new sweaters. Those with large cable knit patterns on the front are on the top of my list. I went to check out what Urban Outfitters had for their fall sweater selection this year and as per usual, I was not disappointed.

Drape Cardigan: Love the draped front and I am pretty crazy about the print. The vintage 70's feel of it really makes it.

Ecote Mohair Sweater: The neutral color of this sweater just seems like I would want to wear it every day. The basic element of the cut and the texture of the knit makes me really love this one.

Leopard Sweater: Urban had a similar style to this with a crew neck last fall. I am pretty sure I posted about it then....haha. Never got it though and I am pretty drawn to this one as well.

Cable Fisherman Cardigan: Large cable knit details are my obsession at the moment. I also love the oatmeal color of this sweater. Naming the color oatmeal almost sold me on the sweater alone.The brown leather buttons have an old fashioned appeal to them completing this old man sweater look that makes me feel like I would live in this sweater.

Cable Stitch Tunic: Large cable knit down front. Need I say more?

Cropped Pullover: Everyone needs a great cropped sweater. This one is pretty basic which I really love and the cerulean blue color is amazing!

Open Stitch Cable Poncho Sweater: Crochet effect with the large holes on this sweater makes it unique and it would make it a great layering piece. I am just loving texture a lot lately.

Elbow Patch Pullover: Elbow patches say "old man sweater" to me which for me is a plus. Classic feel.

Speckled Sweater: Liking the different knit patterns on this sweater and the mustard color is one of my favorite fall colors. It just says fall to me.

Pullover Sweater: Stripes again. I mean yeah, I probably don't have enough stripe sweaters. Probably.....

A Practical Pant

It seems like every other post is about leopard print so you would think my entire closet is stocked full with nothing but leopard print. It is not though (if you said the same to me about stripes I would have to give in and say yes most of my closet is striped)!

Which is why I am in desperate need of these:

Joe's Jeans Skinny Jeans in Leopard! I can't wear blue jeans at my new job (black are fine), so wouldn't these be a practical purchase? Right? RIGHT? Okay, maybe not so practical, but I love them! Throw a white t-shirt over them and a black blazer and you are set to go.

They Are Called Classic for a Reason

Rag and Bone. I think I become more obsessed with them every day. It is at the point where I am basically doing free publicity for them 24/7. A friend actually asked me if I worked for their PR department because my facebook status was more often then not a about Rag and Bone or reposts of people spotted wearing Rag and Bone. Sadly no, I do not work for them....just obsessed.

Fall has come around now and it has led me on the search for the perfect boot. Not necessarily one I can afford (why would that be important? haha) and I would like to announce I have found it:

The Newbury Classic by Rag and Bone. The perfect heel height for some height but also not impossible to walk in. The perfect rounded toe with a slight point (this is key for me. Toe shape makes or breaks a show for me). Love the ankle cut. I don't even need to mention that it seems like every celebrity has a pair of these, because they are that fantastic. They come in suede and other colors than black too.

If you have a spare $495 go out and get them now. They aren't called The Classic Newbury for no reason. Their classic, so you will love them forever and never regret spending the money, right?! I am still trying to calculate how I can achieve having these....Rag and Bone, stop being so great.

Leopard Print is for Ladies

Its been a long time since I have posted (bad me). Forgive me though, because I have not been avoiding fashion all together. It was fashion week here in NYC and I have been spending an obscene amount of time stalking all the shows pictures. That is supposed to make me feel better about being so negligent about posting,

Stumbled upon this this fantastic bag the other day though and have been obsessed ever since. Which sparked the idea that it was time to post again.

The Edie Bag from J Crew. I love how classic it looks! The bag comes in red, black, and camel, but there is in particular that I am more obsessed with;

I just love the leopard print one! The leopard print flap on the bag is calf hair. I don't know why but I am just obsessed with leopard print calf hair (or pony hair, see previous post about leopard print flats). Its divine and I love the simplicity of the bag. Of course the leopard print one is more expensive than the other Edie options....the one I like is always the most expensive I swear.

Normally I do not love beige or tan, but I for some reason love the lining on this bag. The compartment set up inside seems really nice too. The border line old lady feel to this bag has me most attracted to it I am pretty sure.

Perfect Chambray Ex-Boyfriend Shirt - I have mentioned this before, so maybe it isn't so "new". Everyone needs a great chambray shirt and how can you not love that it's your "ex-boyfriends"?

Shapestripe Tee - You know by now I am obsessed with stripes. I love the faded stripes and the slouchy fit, I love the sleeve length.

Salt & Pepper Slouch Pants - Love the name again! I am all about pants this fall and slouch pants in particular (though its key though that there is still a slim fit). Who doesn't need pants with polka dots on them?

Leather Soundstage Shorts - How many times do I really need to say I want leather shorts (or more likely with my budget faux leather shorts)? Paired with some tights you can wear these through fall, winter, and spring.

Striped Lampost Sweater Dress - Stripes all over, enough said. Not to mention that sweater dresses are always unbelievably comfortable. You will live in your sweater dresses. People will start to comment "Didn't you just wear that?" Yes, yes you did.

Randomly found myself watching a few old episodes of The O.C. this weekend. Which reminded me, what the hell happened to Mischa Barton? We all know Rachel Bilson is still a fashion darling, but Mischa Barton went from style icon to hot crazy mess. You know I like a good hot mess sometimes, but not when there is too much crazy involved.

Mischa Barton's character on The O.C. had some great style moments. Even the not so great style moments made me a bit nostalgic for the fashion of 2003-2004. Those pleated mini skirts were everywhere (I think I had a plaid one). One of my favorite looks from the show was this Chanel dress she wore one episode. I couldn't find a better screen shot of the dress, but I loved the white sequins with the grey chiffon and the buttons in the back. The hemline had pleating too, but you can't see it in the photo. I've been on the hunt to find a better picture of the dress, so if anyone finds a picture of this Chanel dress circa 2004, let me know!

Ticket to Paris, Please

Traveling internationally has always been on my list of things I want to do more of. I haven't actually gone to that many other countries, but I want to go to so many! This has escalated to a bit of an obsessive level lately and I am determined to go to Paris next year possibly. Not sure if this will be financially possible, but my heart it set on it.

Hoping I can go to the city of fashion, romance, lights...I love you NYC, but I need a dream vacation. Plus I am a quarter French, so doesn't that earn me some right of passage to go?

Every girl needs a great pair of ballet flats. Standard round toe flats are my favorite, usually in black. I have however always wanted a pair of leopard print flats. I want them to be made of hair too...I just love the idea for some unknown reason of hairy leopard print flats.

These might be the perfect pair of leopard flats from J. Crew. They have the perfect rounded toe shape, which I am very particular about. Toe shape makes or breaks a shoe for me.

Lipstick is a great addition to any outfit. Its easy to throw on and adds a little bit of glamor to even your most casual looks. I am partial to bright reds and hot pinks. I own several bright red lipsticks and I tend to carry them all around with me at all times (not necessary, I admit).

Coral lipstick has been very popular for a while now and I have wanted to purchase one, but haven't found the perfect one yet. I love the shade though so I will be on the hunt. Any recommendations for coral lipsticks?

Red, White & Blue

I happen to be a fan paring together red, white, and blue. This can either comes off as highly patriotic (yes the US has red, white and blue as their flag colors, but so do the French so I like to think of it as Parisian. I do like American flag pattern apparel too though....). Which is why I am in love with this skirt and sweater from Zara. The polka dot blouse I just love on its own but paired with a red or blue skirt it would look fantastic.

Outfit Envy

Lollapalooza music festival recently took place in Chicago. Music festivals always bring out an interesting array of style statements by the concert goers. This year I am obsessed with what Ellie Goulding's outfit:

I am obsessed with the Peter Jensen sweater she is wearing! Love it being paired with the layered button up shirts and the Burberry trousers. Dr. Marten boots were the perfect shoes and add the perfect element of grunge. I will now be on a permanent search for a sweater like this one....

Say what you want about Taylor Momsen. She is over the top, which I kind of love. Yeah, yeah you can argue she is too young to go around dressing like a coked out hooker, but I kind of love that she does. If it works for her, more power to her. I also happen to be a big fan of her band The Pretty Reckless. Props to her for this outfit since it is the most clothing I have ever seen her in! Also love that she opted to wear some white (of course threw on a black leather jacket over it all for effect). I love the white boots and I have been wanting some over the knee socks (I personally would opt for them in heather grey though).

Rihanna was spotted wearing a Helmut Lang maxi skirt and I've became a little obsessed it ever since.

I actually saw a girl on the street wearing it too and it looks even better in person. Maxi skirts have been a trend for a while now, but what is unique about this one is the high slit on the side and the draping. It is by Helmut Lang after all, so you know the draping was going to be amazing.

Cat Call

Cat calls. We have all heard them. Those obnoxious, disgusting, crude calls from men towards anything that appears female. I say appears because I could be wearing sweat pants, have no make up on and have a sweatshirt with the hood up and still hear some jerk say "Hey, ya lookin' good mami." Hold back the vomit. Anyways, this is not a post about what jerks men can be so I'll get to my point now.

I was walking down the street today and saw a girl wearing bright coral lipstick, a mustard pencil skirt, and a light weight navy cardigan. I found myself staring at her when she walked by and wanting to call out, "I like your lipstick! Especially paired with the color of that skirt!" Would this be an appropriate cat call? I find myself wanting to do this every time I like what someone is wearing. So just so you know if you see a blonde girl staring at you on the street its because I like your outfit.

Had to put up this photo of Emma Stone's street style. Love her style (style influence of the day post to come from this most likely). Most likely I would be mentally hollering, "I like your outfit!" at her if I saw her on the street. Striped top, grey jeans, and a leather jacket? Love.

I occasionally hint at or mention my obsession with stripes. Ok, I may mention it more than occasionally. Stripes are a classic print that I adore on dresses, skirts, shorts, pants, t-shirts...well anything. If you don't have something striped in your closet you need to work on that right now. I can't have enough!

A photo shoot has surfaced of Francis Bean Cobain on Hedi Slimane's Diary. It is amazing! I am now counting Francis Bean Cobain as one of my style icons to watch. She looks amazing in all the shots and she is just the perfect mixture of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. I always love the edgy girls (I am loving her tattoos).

Finally! Alexander Wang had a sample sale today and after waiting in line for 2 hours I finally got in and bought some goodies. If you have read this blog you know that I am rather obsessed with Alexander Wang. Downside to the sale was that there were no shoes or handbags. Still they had a lot of options and the prices were pretty decent. I ended up only purchasing T by Alexander Wang pieces and nothing from the RTW lines. I got several great pieces that I am very excited about though.

Lucky Rabbits

I have a necklace of a rabbit that is very special to me and I kind of think of it as lucky. I wear it pretty often, and I like that its just a simple rabbit charm on a chain. Occasionally I do browse around to see if there is other rabbit jewelry out there that catches my eyes. More often that not I find a lot of really cheesy ones out there.

I did however stumble upon these two pieces and I think their pretty cool. I love the heavy look of the metal. The more "hardware" appeal something has I tend to be more attracted to it.

Calourette Rabbit Ring and Necklace

The picture online of the necklace is not great, but I saw it at an Urban Outfitters store and it looks really cool and heavy. The weight adds to the cool factor for me. The ring might seem a bit impractical, but I almost love it more for that.

Wasn't I just talking about Balmain? Its been announced that Balmain is now coming out with a more affordable bridge line to be called Pierre Balmain. "More affordable" is a relative term here since the price range is still on the pricey side. The line is coming to stores in December, but here are a few looks of what's to come:

There is something so nostalgic about a pullover sweatshirt. I don't know what it is exactly. Maybe it's just that I remember owning several as a child from every vacation spot visited or animal I was currently obsessed with at any given age (I owned more than a few sweat shirts with pugs on them). Knowing my love of basics, I think a pullover sweatshirt is a great addition to a wardrobe for that rumbled/hot mess look that I love. If you are going to wear a pull over sweat shirt, why not get one like this fantastic Rodarte one:

Just love that it comes in heather grey. One of my favorite color options. I love the classics: black and white, but my other staple option would be heather grey. I think many would consider their alternative to black or white to be brown, but I never really buy brown. There is always another color option I would rather have. I like other people in brown, but I can never sell it to myself. If I am not buying it in black or white I will buy it in heather grey.

You either love distressed clothing of you don't. I happen to be a fan. When it is done right anyways. I know some people argue why would you buy clothing with holes in it when you could do that yourself. You can't do it yourself. Sorry, it will never look right. It will just look cheap and it really will look like you found your clothes in a trash can. It is all about the proper placement and the process to get the perfect "I've worn this every day of my life" look. A look that was particularly popular in the 90's (a fashion era favorite for me).

This "Ripped Knit" Crewneck Sweater by Wyatt has caught my eye. Perfectly distressed! Its over 100 degrees in New York and I am still thinking about knitwear! Something tells me I am going to be buying quite a few sweaters this fall....

More Reasons to Love Opening Ceremony (+ Kiki)

Seems I have been patrolling around looking at other blogs quite a bit lately because here is another post about a blog I am into lately. Honestly, my interest in this blog started from my overall love of Opening Ceremony. Its a great store that sells many of the most coveted items by young designers. It is one of those places where I want to buy everything in the store. I would too, if I could afford it. For now I just love from afar.

Obsessing over the store led me to following them on Twitter and checking out their blog daily and its very delightful. Could their employees be any cuter?! I love every time they post a biography on a new staff member (I always want their wardrobe and who doesn't want to know what an employees spirit animal is? Cause I do!).

Turns out Kirsten Dunst loves them too! Cue me loving them even more if that is all possible. If you have ever read this blog you pretty much know that Kirsten Dunst is my style icon. I adore her. She's fantastic. Love her movies, love her clothes...I'll stop. Opening Ceremony did a little tribute to her for her birthday (I'm behind it was April 29th). It is one of the greatest things I have ever seen! Pictures of Kiki (Kirsten Dunst, I refer to her as Kiki most of the time) from her life and films with shopping suggestions for each Kiki look! I could make my whole blog about styles and pieces inspired by Kiki's looks! Oh wait, I kind of already do that....

Recently I discovered the amazing blog The Man Repeller. If you haven't read it before you have to check it out. I am late to the game on this one, since it is a pretty popular blog. The Man Repeller is written by Leandra Medine and she is truly hilarious. The blog takes a look at how many fashion forward looks are not considered "man friendly" and how women who dress stylish are most often not dressing to attract a guy. My love of fashion is pretty obvious from this blog, but I have also adore squished faced dogs. Pugs in particular, but I melt over pretty much any squished wrinkle faced dog. That's why when I saw the New Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Louis Vuitton ad campaign I could barely contain my excitment:

The hunt for the perfect denim/chambray shirt has been going on for a few years for me now. I have purchased a few. One is a longer tunic style button up chambray shirt and the other a button up denim with a more fitted and shorter cut. I love them both and they are wardrobe staples for sure. This hasn't satisfied my want for another one though. As you will come to find I like to buy similar things over and over again. If you like something though, why not get a few versions of it! Hey, I know what I like.

Recently I have made a few trips to the Madewell store and found several of the employees wearing this shirt:

Its called the "Perfect Chambray Shirt" and I have to agree with the title. I love the boyfriend fit and the light wash. Given, yes of course the sales girls were wearing it. I have worked retail and you usually have a discount that you use often because you are surrounded by the clothing all day and you just end up buying things to wear to work. Or there is a dress code that requires you to wear the store's products only. However, if you work at clothing store you usually know which products are the best since you are around them all the time and have probably tried them all on. I was also at the Guggenheim Museum the other day and saw 2 girls wearing it there too!

Work Out?

Who doesn't like wearing their favorite pair of sweatpants? No matter how much you love clothes, you know you have a pair of sweatpants that you lounge around on the sofa in (mine are dark heather grey, of course). You love these pants, but they aren't something you want anyone to see you in or something that you would go outside in. Given the comfort factor we would love to wear them around more, but given they are not the most flattering or stylish pieces of clothing most of us keep them as after 10 pm watching TV by yourself attire only.

I like the idea of the "I just threw this on" look that sweat pants can pull off. Casual/sloppy attire that sometimes just works. If they are the right fit ( if they are in a shade of heather grey they are even more appealing). Cue Alexander Wang's Spring RTW collection that was the perfect take on "American Sportswear". An athletic inspired collection that was raw, edgy, but had just the right elements of fun. Given this collection came out quite a while ago, this isn't exactly new news. Why am I bringing it up now? I have been obsessing over the idea of his sweatpants inspired trouser looks ever since I saw the collection. I love an athletic look that was never meant to be work out attire.

I have been hunting for an affordable version of this look for quite some time. Though the T style (above) is great, it was still out of my price range (yeah, I'm sad about that). It couldn't just be any skinny sweatpant. I wanted something that was trying for the Wang inspired athletic look, but was by no means meant for a work out. I happily stumbled upon these:

I have been meaning to post this since I first received my copy of Harper's Bazaar's April Issue. The issue featured a photo shoot of one of my favorite style muses" Chloe Sevigny. Wanted to share the fantastic spread.

The interview that accompanied the article was also very interesting as Chloe talked candidly about her appearance and her caution to the wind take on fashion and sense of style. Its worth a read, so go pick up the this months Issue of Harper's Bazaar. It was a great issue all around with some phenomenal shoots. Just try to ignore the fact that if you buy it on the newsstand Kim Kardashian is the cover girl. If you subscribe you have a much better cover, I would recommend it.

Many of you might already be well aware of Pinterest, but I have just recently discovered this wonderful site and it is my newest obsession. The idea is very similar to Tumblr, but I love the lay out. You can set up your own pinboard of your interests, but you must become a member first. While you do have to "request an invitation" first, all that is required is you send your email an in a day or so you are granted access. A clever way of creating an "exclusive" aspect to the site basically.

Being a fan of colors I was pleased to find that Pantone had a line of dishes based off their colors. These dishes are adorable and I love that each dish comes in a different color. I first discovered the mugs by the Pantone line featured in a magazine, but with further investigation I found that they actually have a series of dishes.

Their products have been featured in my design magazines and blogs and are already a well known favorite. These dishes are the dream addition to my apartment and kitchen.

Adele's new album 21 is coming out February 22nd and I am really looking forward to getting it. I have never been much of an Adele fan before and while I have enjoyed some of her songs I would not say she was one of my favorites.

Recently however, I have been watching performances she has been doing of her new album online and I am blown away by the songs on her new album. Her voice is so beautiful and I love the honesty of her songs.

I found this video online of her talking about each song on her album and while I warn you it is a bit of a long video it is worth watching. Hearing her talk about each song is really amazing amazing because she is very open about her song writing and she is also quite witty and funny. Check out the video at least to hear her reference moments from the movie Never Been Kissed.

Favorite songs that I have heard from the album include: Don't You Remember, Someone Like You, and Turning Tables.

I also happen to think she is very pretty and love her make up and style I might stat working on teasing my hair up like hers...love.

The White Blazer. I am a bit obsessed with blazers and while I do own quite a few black blazers, I do not have a white one. I have been wanting one for a while but been unsure I was ready to commit to having one. The worry of keeping it clean was weighing on me a bit. However, I have now decided that it is on my list of staples I need to add to my closet.

Finding these pictures of Chloe Sevigny rocking the white blazer with some shorts (obviously the shorts paired with the blazer really tipped me of the edge to deciding I need one) I think I am ready to commit to the white blazer. Its the perfect spring addition for my wardrobe.

There is no amount of basic cotton T-shirts that would every be too many. The perfect white tank top or t-shirt is one of my favorite obsessions. Black and heather grey are also among my personal favorite color options for favorites.

Spending $90 on a V-neck shirt might sound unreasonable to some, but if I had the money I would love to splurge on the basics. How many times are you going to wear that dress you bought for a wedding that was close to $200 dollars. How many times will you wear a plain white t-shirt? That's what I thought, it would be more than worth it.

I recently read an article about Charlotte Ronson's apartment and how she decorated it. There were photos of her apartment and an article accompanying the images by Lili Dialo, the author of this book:

I instantly became enthralled with the idea of myself painting walls and sanding furniture that I found at a flea market while re-painting it bright colors. Who am I kidding, this will probably never happen. I am however interested in the idea of the book and am considering purchasing it.

One reason I enjoyed the book (besides the glossy colorful apartments of perfectly styled "eclectic apartments") was one special decorating tip:

Organize your books by size or color so that they don't look cluttered on the shelves.

Oh! I could manage that! New goal organize books by color or size and have them displayed in tall narrow book shelf*.

*in the fantasy the book shelf is one I hand sanded and then repainted a whimsical color

This book holds my apartment fantasy...Buying the book may be the only part of the fantasy I full fill, but hey I can dream.

Leopard print has always had a little piece of my heart. Recently, I saw The Graduate and I was obsessing over Mrs. Robinson's leopard fur coat.

Then I saw Mia Wasikowska's photo shoot in the January 2011 edition of Elle where she sports a fantastic leopard coat as well.

I remember when I last blogged. It was 2010 and September. Given it is now 2011, I am long over due to start posting again. I am starting it up again with a renewed level of dedication. Part of this is that I have now entered a new phase of my life where I am no longer interning, working, doing homework, going to school and not having a second for myself ever (as I had been the last few months).

Currently, I have started my first full time "real" job in fashion as I have now graduated college. Now that we are all caught up on me, I can return to the pretty and the ugly.

Working, interning, school....there are not enough hours in the day to keep up with it all and sleep. Forget finding time to blog. I couldn't let Fashion Week come though and not say a word! New York Fashion Week has come and gone, but now is the time to reflect on some of my favorites and new loves of my life. Many of the designers I am normally obsessed with made the list of favorites. There were some shows that really surprised me though.

Feel the love. Enjoy the fashion.

Jason Wu - Didn't expect to love this, but there is a special place in my heart for clothes that look amazing and looks so wearable too. All those shorts and blazers had me falling in love with the collection at the beginning. Also could not get enough of those turbans. Need.

Alexander Wang - Yes, other colors were present besides white but what I loved about this collection was the extreme all white outfits how many there were. Who doesn't love a good white out moment? For lovers of the perfect "white shirt" this collection is for you. I will forever hunt for more white shirt. Absence of color is everything.

Band of Outsiders- Obsession with this brand is supported by almost every blog post I make so I don't think it is a surprise to anyone that they made my favorites list. White is the color for Spring, I can't wait! I love that there were some sweet dresses thrown in this time as well. Loved overall, but I always do.

Helmut Lang- I held back on buying a white blazer, but now I think that I should add that to my list of items to have. White has to be in the wardrobe more clearly. Always like Helmut Lang and the clean looks. They introduced bags this season, so there was also a new element to the utilitarian look.

Marc by Marc Jacobs - Almost too easy to get me with the stripes. Stripes are involved and I am almost positive I will fall in love with it. Have met very few stripes I don't like. Marc by Marc is always fun and this year did not disappoint. Absolute favorite is the grey dress with red stripes. I am in love with that whole look and will dream about that dress. Maybe throw in some short shorts to my want list as well.

Michael Kors - Normally I would not say that Michael Kors has collections that I love. I would say I respected them and I do admire his very clear style point of view. His pieces were never something I wanted, but this year I was really surprised. Easy and chic would be two words to describe this collection. It was fun and just looked so easy to wear, which I feel Kors is known for but this year it really called out to me. Hands down best piece in the collection is the yellow dress. Its sunshine walking.

Proenza Schouler - Unofficial name of this collection should be: "Clothes for the coolest girl you know." Effortless and cool. Looking forward to event appearances where I am sure many of these pieces will be featured. Chloe Sevigny, I am sure I can count on you to represent this fantastic line. Loved the whole concept and styling of the show from the bright colors to the accessories (those necklaces could have a show all their own).

Wish I could mention every favorite, but these were my top picks. Fashion Week is like a dream come true. I will try to keep up with the international shows as well...so much to look forward to still.

Days of the Week

True to form most of the looks include all or one of the following pieces I consider staples to a wardrobe: stripes, leather, leopard print, basic tanks, basics with unique silhouettes, leggings, denim shorts, skinny jeans, plaid and it seems I threw in quite a few lingerie inspired pieces as well. Enjoy the ripped, studded, and sparkling closet of of my dreams.

If only a week could always be this good.

Is There Ever Too Much Chole?

No, there is never too much Chloe. Chole Sevigny that is. Then again if it was the Chloe brand I don't think I could have too much of that either. Anyways found some Chole Sevigny for Opening Ceremony and had to share.

I want every single complete outfit. Shoes, clothes and of course those sunglasses because those are just too fantastic.

The bag you carry every day is a part of you and a part of your life. The size, shape, and color all define you. Its important as any piece of clothing you could wear and sometimes more important because most often a hand bag you will wear every day and carry through several seasons while those thigh high boots may not make the cut next fall (side note regardless, I want some thigh high boots).

After a very long absence from blogging...I have returned and am now settled in back in New York City. Upon returning to the city, I feel like I have a sudden pulse for wanting more clothes and craving fashion even more than usual. Fashion Week is fast approaching and I couldn't be more excited to see all the collections. Anticipation has sent me into a craze looking to get my hands on anything fashion related. Team Taylor - Style Influence of the Day

Last night I watched the premiere of the Rachel Zoe Project's new season on television. I have not followed the show to a great extent, but I have seen a few episodes here and there and I have to say Taylor Jacobson (Zoe's style associate) was my favorite part of the show.

Taylor's trademark platinum hair color, ray bans (was she ever not wearing those sunglasses?), and her dry sense of humor (bad attitude..maybe but Zoe deserved it for being so crazy and having the worst management skills ever) made her the best part of the show. Controversy arose after Taylor "quit" as Zoe's employee and then it later was announced that she was fired. Zoe's camp claims it was because Taylor stole samples and money from the company but I am going to have to say I don't believe that. If you watched the show all Taylor ever talked about or complained about was that she wanted to be more involved and be a greater part of the company. I don't think she would have stole from it.

Her style sense and sarcasm got my vote for Taylor from the beginning though, so here is a little tribute to her:

Okay, I know that after this next post it may seem I am ready to rename this blog "Kirsten Dunst fan page". I was even trying to resist posting this post because I felt I have gone into a bit of an obsessive spiral with finding old articles and photo shoots of her. I think she has officially become my favorite style icon of the moment. Its amazing how I used to not really care for Kirsten Dunst at all and now I just adore her.

I was hunting through a stack of old magazines and stumbled upon this old W from September 2005 with Dunst on the cover. Couldn't help but share the photo shoot (below) and this amazing quote from director Michel Gondry about Dunst:

"When I first met her, I didn't know how much I liked her, but her beauty grows slowly on you, and you get hooked."

I share Gondry's feelings exactly...she really does grow on you.

While cleaning out my old room I stumbled upon my magazine collection that I have been maintaining for several years (as such it has become rather extensive). I finally decided now is the time to recycle all my old issues of magazines, but I couldn't help and revisit some issues as I was going through them. As such I stumbled upon two Kirsten Dunst magazines that had some photo shoots I really loved. She is quickly becoming my favorite style icon...now if only she would start making movies again now that I have become obsessed with all her older films and her personal style.

Yes, I know its yet ANOTHER Kirsten Dunst post. When I get into something though I tend to obsess so this is my trend of the moment.

Crazy/Beautiful

Recently saw the movie Crazy/Beautiful due to a suggestion from a friend that we watch it sometime and I had recently been going through old magazines I had collected and stumbled upon an old Kirtsen Dunst photo shoot and it got me obsessing over her style again. I know I have mentioned Kirsten Dunst before as one of my style icons, so forgive me for repeating myself.

In the movie Crazy/Beautiful she plays a high school senior girl who is the "bad" girl with the rich parents who is deeply misunderstood. She meets and falls in love with a Mexican boy who lives out side of Pasadena, California and commutes 2 hours to go to a privileged school there. Kirsten Dunst's character there meets the boy (played by Jay Hernandez) and they start a romance that is troubled by Dunst's character's desire to cause chaos against Hernandez's character's desire to better his life and improve his economic situation.

It sounds like a crappy romantic teen flick I know. To be honest I would have been perfectly satisfied with it even if it was, but it was much better than I expected. Dunst's character stumbling around drunk in a cut up t-shirt and her underwear in the drive way screaming at her father in one scene pretty much sealed the deal for me on loving this movie.

The wardrobe alone is enough to make me adore it really. Dunst's character's hair is too long to be short and too short to be long and is generally a mess. Most times it doesn't look washed at all, which I just loved for some reason. My favorite wardrobe piece though was the endless supply of cut up T-shirts that bared the showed her mid drift and or were cut on the sides and tied together. Dunst's character apparently did not own a bra either it appeared. The grungy and dirty style was fantastic. Here are a few pictures of the crazy and beautiful:
